Counting Down the Days to NDC09

An entry about conferences Publication date 30. March 2009 19:44

Winter hasn’t quite let go yet here in Norway, so summer seems a distant, unlikely thing yet. But the Norwegian Developer Conference 2009 is less than three months away (17th to the 19th of June), and with luck Oslo will be sunny side up by then.

Speakers Galore

A lot more information about the conference has been published since it was announced last year, and what sounded promising back then has now been realized through an absolutely stunning lineup of speakers. What was initially supposed to be a two day conference has been extended to three full days where the final day is dedicated to a choice of workshops, and the list of speakers include names such as Robert C. Martin, Michael Feathers, Ayende Rahien, Jeremy D. Miller, Udi Dahan, Jonas Follesø, Ted Neward, Jimmy Nilsson, Craig Larman and Scott Bellware alongside some prominent Microsofties like Phil Haak, Glenn Block and Scott Hanselman. And that’s just some of them – you can check out the entire agenda over at the NDC site - it looks, for lack of a better word, awesome. They’re offering 1- and 2 day passes, but honestly you’d be crazy not to go for the full monty.

Entertainment

Any respectable conference needs a proper party. And (apart from plenty of beer of course) any proper party needs good music! The Norwegian band aptly named Datarock will be performing at the NDC2009 party, so don’t miss that.

.NET Rocks!

.NET Rocks podcast celebrities Richard Campell and Carl Franklin will also be making an appearance at NDC 09, though exactly what fun they’ll be cooking up hasn’t been leaked yet…

User Group Discount

If you’re a member of a European .NET user group, then check with your group to claim a 15% discount on the tickets. Your group can contact Rune Grothaug at Microsoft Norway to sort this out for you if they haven’t already.

Welcome!

My name is Fredrik Kalseth, and this is my blog - thanks for visiting! I am fortunate enough to work with what I love for a living, and this blog is essentially the biproduct of that.

I work as a senior consultant for Capgemini, and am also an active participant in the Norwegian .NET community, as an avid attendee but also as a speaker (most recently at NNUG and MSDN Live).

As a developer, I have a wide circle of interest. My primary passion is for agile, test-driven development, with focus on best practices and clean code. That said, I also love to work on the frontend, especially with web development.

On Twitter? My handle is fkalseth. On LinkedIn? I`m there too.

NDC 2010

The conference to attend this summer happens June 16th-18th in Oslo, Norway. Are you going? Be sure to catch my talk on AOP while you're there!
