NNUG Vestfold Meeting Next Thursday: Unit Testing

An entry about nnug Publication date 22. February 2008 14:42

Next thursday (the 28th of February), we're holding the 8th meeting for the Vestfold chapter of the Norwegian .NET User Group. The topic for the evening is unit testing, and we've been lucky enough to get Thomas Eyde to come and talk about the merits of test driven design, agile and extreme programming.

After he's awed us with his insight (no pressure, Thomas!), I'll be giving a quick talk about mocking and how it can be used to simplify the writing of unit tests (I'll be using TypeMock Isolator in my demo). We'll also be showing a quick demonstration of JetBrains Resharper, an ace refactoring plugin for Visual Studio, of which we've also got a license to give away to one lucky competition winner.

So don't be shy; if you're in the neighbourhood then sign up and show up - it's free, and there'll be pizza!

Welcome!

My name is Fredrik Kalseth, and this is my blog - thanks for visiting! I am fortunate enough to work with what I love for a living, and this blog is essentially the biproduct of that.

I work as a senior consultant for Capgemini, and am also an active participant in the Norwegian .NET community, as an avid attendee but also as a speaker (most recently at NNUG and MSDN Live).

As a developer, I have a wide circle of interest. My primary passion is for agile, test-driven development, with focus on best practices and clean code. That said, I also love to work on the frontend, especially with web development.

On Twitter? My handle is fkalseth. On LinkedIn? I`m there too.
